Thrift Shop

Berlin's so full of history, you barely have to go looking for it before you stumble upon another remnant. Right under our noses, thrift shops dot the streets and corners, holding everyday relics of the city's recent history.

GRD-era plastics and brights dominate the tiny shoproom floors where you’ll find plastic telephones, toys, oddly shaped lamps, dinnerware, tea sets, vases, cassettes and lawn chairs amongst the trash and treasure.

Observe the past through the city's rescued objects - small, subtle remnants of everyday life gone by.

p.s. You’re sure to come across plenty of thrift shops on your own wanderings but the streets of Pankow, Kreuzberg and Neukölln are all good starting point.
