A Summer picnic along the river Seine in the middle of old Paris is a timeless outing in this city. Parisiens are experts at picnicking; tiny apartments without balconies, with a distinct lack of natural light and breezes mean the city's parks and river banks transform into public living rooms in the warmer months.

While away the last daylight hours stretching into the late evening with your feet dangling over the edge of the water, the sun will be up until 9 or 10pm. In close company with all the other revellers, take notes on perfect picnic fodder: rosé, baguette, cheese and a bakery treat, don't forget bottle opener, cups and knife!
