Beachside Kep actually doesn't have the best beaches; resort pools (like Veranda's) are amazing here but nature's real gift here is the sprawling hiking trails of the National Park.

Looming up high in the mountains above the town, red dirt roads lead you up high, you can ride your motorbike all the way up and at the start of the steep and skinny walking trails.

We hiked every day and every day we found a new trail. We slipped in the mud down hills on our bums, got chased by hornets, felt like we were in Jurassic Park, found a giant abandoned temple, walked past a nunnery on a hill, ran away from storms and stood in awe at the highest point looking out. This is wild nature you can really explore, where you can get your hands, shoes, clothes, everything dirty and feel happy about it.
