The trip through the skies out to Whitehaven Beach is no secret but it made me feel all kinds of things.

The first thing to notice in your bright red helicopter is the expanse of uninterrupted glass all around you, making you almost feel like you're flying on your own wings. The only land in site is the islands, the rest is just sea, sky and horizon. The patterns and colours that make up the waters and the reefs are a thing of beauty, nature-made.

Whitehaven Beach, on its own island, is all white sand, clear waters and no one around (I heard you can camp here too). We took off again just before sunset, the last rays of light beaming down golden.
