Ceramic artist Hilary at Gaya Ceramic has seen some different reactions over the years taking people through ceramics making, a foreign experience for most. She's seen apathy, she's seen frustration, tantrums, she's seen people give up, come back and sit down and try again. For me it was apathy; we agreed these reactions could reflect the way we deal with life too.
Join in on Throwing Thursdays in this outdoor studio. Working with clay, feeling the earth between your fingers, doing something with your hands...it just feels good. It takes you into something physical and meditative, where being balanced and centred yourself is the only way to get a balanced, centred piece. Afterwards, head across the road to shop their ceramics, including my favourite, incense holders.
