This gargantuan, Greek-looking church plonked in the middle of Paris houses a secret in its crypt-like basement; a neverending stone canteen hall with volunteers serving a three course meal weekdays for €8.50. If it's your first time you'll buy a membership card too (€8.50) but all proceeds go to the church's charity.
You'll find a real mix of Parisien bargain hunters in here; hungry students, the elegant elderly and posh business men and women all sit side by side in the busy hall. The food comes out fast, it's nothing fancy but it is delicious and it is French.
